Moon Developmental Hockey - Building Moon Hockey through friendship and fun! 

Purpose 

The core goals of the program are to provide Moon Area youth players an added development opportunity in addition to their current organization. This allows them a chance to play with their peers and friends from within Moon Area to be part of the excitement of Moon Hockey.

What's included? 

Practices! – Athletes develop their skills in practice regardless of the sport. Players will be organized by age and skill for practices to effectively utilize the entire ice surface to maximize development. American Developmental Model (ADM) concepts into our practices. Games against area teams one to two times a month. Players must have completed a learn to play hockey program and playing at the Squirt or Pee Wee level. They should be also playing in another program as well. Moon Developmental Hockey operates in conjunction with West Allegheny Developmental Hockey from September – March. Meeting up to twice a month to encourage player development, but not create a burden when added to current hockey commitments. 

The developmental program provides the players on each team 3-5 practices and 8-10 games. While the practices include all players, the intent for 2026-27 is to field both a Pee Wee and Squirt team. On line registration will start Mid-July 2026 at www.moonhockey.org
